We have a spacious 3 bedroom, loft style apartment for rent in historic Agde on the banks of the River Herault, only 5 minutes drive from the stunning beaches of the mediterranean. The characterful building dates back to 1679 and is constructed from Volcanic rock from nearby Mont St Loup, our apartment was originally occupied by the Bishop of Agde. It has 3 large bedrooms, a massive open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen and will comfortably sleep up to 6 people.
The typically mediterranean climate of the region, with hot Summers and over 300 days of sunshine a year, makes exploring the area a pleasure. By boat along the river, out into the sea or along the famous Canal du Midi. You can cycle or walk to the beach or canal du midi along dedicated cycle paths or explore further afield along sleepy Country lanes.
The apartment is ideally situated and is a great base for a holiday in the South of France. The options are limitless - from a family beach holiday to a cultural sightseeing tour of Southern France and Northern Spain. It is at the hub of everything that is happening in Agde with fantastic transport links to places near and far.
Our apartment is on the top floor of the terracota coloured building shown in the main picture of this listing. The dining area, living room and master bedroom windows look out onto the river and the floating restaurants on the quayside and have fantastic views of the surronding countryside. The second and third bedrooms have views of the stone staircase and courtyard, reminiscent of a scene from Harry Potter.
The apartment was fully refurbished when we purchased it and is regularly updated and maintained to a high standard. It has a new open plan kitchen in the living / dining room, a separate bathroom, separate wc and an en-suite walk in shower in the master bedroom. It is fully equipped to comfortably sleep up to 6 people. The entrance to the apartment is at the rear of the building, next to the colourful square and close to the tourist office and impressive Cathedral of Agde.
Access to the apartment couldn't be easier. It is just a 7 minute walk to the TGV train service with fast services on the main line between Paris and Barcelona.
The nearest airport, Beziers - Cap d'Agde, is just a 12 minute car journey away and it is just 15 minute drive to the A9 Autoroute.
We now offer rentals via booking.com and some out of season home exchanges via homeexchange.com. We are usually around to meet you on arrival, offer assistance during your stay and to ensure the apartment is kept in excellent condition.
